Today’s professional athletes — and even “amateurs” who participate in Olympic-style sports — are bigger, stronger, and faster than athletes of a generation ago.

They got that way, in large part, through intense regular training, starting in their youth. Virtually all of them utilized sophisticated programs and techniques to accomplish their goals.

Today, typically, our sports stars have attended hundreds of camps and clinics. There they mastered both the fundamentals and nuances of the games they play. Nearly all participated — and still engage — in intensive weight training programs.

There’s more: Almost all received instruction from expert coaches and most follow strict nutritional plans.
